Role Description The Surgical Nurse is a full-time, on-site role based in Amman, Jordan, responsible for supporting surgical procedures and ensuring safe, high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgery. Day-to-day tasks include preparing the operating room, verifying equipment and supplies, assisting surgeons and anesthesiology teams, and maintaining sterile techniques throughout procedures. The role involves monitoring patients’ conditions, administering medications as directed, documenting nursing interventions, and coordinating with other clinical staff to support optimal outcomes. The Surgical Nurse also provides patient and family education about pre- and post-operative care, adheres to hospital policies and infection control standards, and participates in quality and safety initiatives.
Qualifications
* Strong experience in Operating Room settings, including knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
* Solid foundation in Nursing and Medicine principles, including assessment, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice.
* Proficiency in Surgery-related support, including intraoperative assistance and post-operative monitoring.
* Demonstrated skills in Patient Care, including patient advocacy, communication, and compassionate, culturally sensitive care.
* Valid nursing license and formal nursing qualification (e.g., Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent).
* Previous experience as a surgical or perioperative nurse is highly preferred.
* Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and in fast-paced, high-acuity environments.
