Role Description The Food Safety Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Tripoli, responsible for ensuring that all food products meet internal standards and regulatory requirements. Daily tasks include monitoring food handling processes, performing inspections and audits, and verifying compliance with food safety policies and local regulations. The specialist will develop and maintain food safety procedures, support hazard analysis and risk assessments, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions when issues are identified. The role involves working closely with production, quality, and food service teams to train staff, promote best practices, and maintain accurate documentation and records. The Food Safety Specialist will also assist in preparing reports, supporting external audits, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
Qualifications
* Strong foundation in Food Science and Food Safety, with the ability to apply scientific principles to practical food production and handling environments.
* Experience in Quality Assurance and Food Quality, including conducting inspections, implementing quality control measures, and supporting continuous improvement programs.
* Knowledge of Food Service operations, with practical understanding of safe food preparation, storage, and distribution practices.
* Relevant degree or diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field.
* Familiarity with local and international food safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP, ISO, or equivalent frameworks).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret data and audit findings.
* Effective communication skills to train staff, prepare reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Ability to work on-site in Tripoli, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to a fast-paced operational environment.
