Role Description The Head of North Bekaa region will lead planning, implementation, and monitoring of Green Plan’s projects and initiatives across the North Bekaa area. This full-time hybrid role is based in Baalbek, with regular on-site field presence in the region and some flexibility for work-from-home tasks such as reporting, coordination, and administrative follow-up. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing regional program delivery, managing local teams and partners, coordinating with stakeholders and community representatives, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements. The role involves preparing work plans and budgets, tracking progress against targets, resolving operational challenges, and reporting on outcomes and risks to senior management. The Head of North Bekaa region will also contribute to identifying new opportunities, strengthening local partnerships, and promoting Green Plan’s values and standards in all regional activities.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising staff and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Project and program management capabilities, including planning, budgeting, implementation oversight, and monitoring and evaluation.
- Stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with communities, local authorities, partners, and donors.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken formats, with the ability to prepare clear reports, presentations, and documentation.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess risks, identify issues, and propose practical solutions.
- Knowledge of regional development, rural development, or environmental and sustainability projects in the Bekaa or similar contexts.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, balancing on-site regional presence in Baalbek and remote work, with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in development studies, public administration, environmental management, engineering, or a related field; a higher degree is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a regional leadership or field coordination role, preferably within NGOs, development agencies, or public sector programs.
- Commitment to inclusive, gender-neutral, and non-discriminatory practices, and adherence to Green Plan’s ethical and safeguarding standards.
