Title: Design and estimation Project Engineer
Purpose:
Duties:
Perform structural analysis and design for mostly but not limited to horizontal elements, including precast/ prestressed / post tension/ RC slabs and beams.
Carry out cost comparisons and value engineering to choose the most effective type of structural system to price or execute.
Deliver design solutions and drawings to high quality standards in a timely manner to meet project schedules.
Coordinate site activities with factory and client
Calculate and estimate flooring systems and structures for opportunities to quote.
Use a consultative sales approach to guide the client towards the correct products. Identifies advantages and compares products. Present value engineering solutions to the client.
Develop clear and effective written proposals and quotations for your prospective customers.
Follow up on the opportunities that are sent directly to the company by means of phone calls and visits.
Visit the prospects, explain the quotation, and close the sale.
Assist sales staff in company introductions if needed.
Help the sales staff with their own prospects by accompanying them to close the sale in due time.
Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with your current customers in the assigned market segment to generate new business for the organization’s products and services.
Participates in trade shows and conventions.
Skills
Knowledge of the prestressed theory.
Software knowledge: Etabs or robot, safe, AutoCAD 2d.
Proficient in excel.
Ability to calculate all structural elements by hand.
Knowledge of the following codes: ACI 318, IBC / UBC
The following are not required but are a plus if they are already acquired before training:
Knowledge of the PCI 7th edition, PTI 6th edition or other prestressed codes.
