RemotePass exists because talent is distributed equally, but opportunity is not. Backed by EBRD and trusted by 800+ companies across 150+ countries, RemotePass is the platform that gives businesses the infrastructure to hire anyone, anywhere — and gives workers in emerging markets the financial tools and global access they deserve.
RemotePass is the only platform that combines Employer of Record, contractor management, direct employment, and corporate spend cards in a single product — rated 4.8/5 on G2, trusted by Spotify, Logitech, and Deloitte, and operating across 150+ countries. We are backed by leading global investors, including Oraseya Capital, Endeavor Catalyst, Khwarizmi Ventures, Flyer One Ventures, Access Bridge Ventures, A15, Swiss Founders Fund, and Plug & Play.
The roleAs RemotePass scales, we are adding a Compliance Operations Lead to strengthen the bridge between our Head of Compliance, Operations, and the analyst team. This person will handle ambiguous cases, keep day-to-day execution moving, and ensure compliance decisions are consistent, well-documented, and defensible.
This role is flexible by design. If you want to manage the analyst team directly, we're open to that. If you'd rather come in as a senior individual contributor who's simply the team's first point of escalation, that works too — we'll shape the role around the right person. What matters more than the org chart is the operational judgment: the ability to look at an incomplete document set, a vague business description, or an unusual payment pattern, and know exactly what to do with it.
What You'll Do
- * Be the first escalation point for complex KYB, KYC, and enhanced due diligence cases, before anything reaches the Head of Compliance
- Review and QA analyst decisions — risk ratings, evidence, disposition notes — to make sure they're complete and defensible
- Set and track team SLAs and KPIs: case aging, turnaround times, QA findings, rework rates
- Build and maintain SOPs, escalation templates, and case documentation standards as the team scales
- Manage sanctions, PEP, and adverse media escalations, including false-positive review and evidence retention
- Support transaction monitoring — spotting unusual payout patterns, rapid onboarding, or high-risk activity
- Maintain our compliance evidence register and issue/remediation tracker for audits and partner reviews
- Coordinate with Customer Success and Operations so client-facing compliance requests stay clear and commercially practical
- Report on compliance operations to our Head of Compliance and COO
Requirements
- * 5+ years in compliance operations, AML/financial crime, sanctions, or payments compliance — ideally with experience at a licensed money transmitter, payment institution, bank, PSP, fintech, card/spend platform, marketplace, or other regulated financial services environment.
- Comfortable making calls on ambiguous cases: incomplete documents, unclear business activity, or elevated payment partner risk
- Able to clearly separate a documentation gap from real risk from something that needs to go straight to the Head of Compliance
- Experience managing, mentoring, or QA'ing analysts is a strong plus — not required
- Strong written communication: case notes, escalation summaries, and partner responses that hold up under scrutiny
- CAMS or CFCS certification is a plus
- Arabic fluency is a strong plus, not a requirement
