We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Site Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys being on-site, managing moving parts, and ensuring that our vision is translated accurately into reality.
Role Overview
As a Site Engineer, you will be the bridge between the design office and the construction site. You will oversee daily operations, manage sub-contractors, and ensure that projects stay on schedule and within budget. Your expertise in Project Management and Procurement will be vital in streamlining our workflows and securing the best materials for our builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Supervision: Oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure work is performed according to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Project Management: Develop and monitor project timelines, identifying potential bottlenecks and implementing solutions to keep the build on track.
- Procurement & Logistics: Manage the sourcing of materials, negotiate with suppliers, and coordinate deliveries to ensure zero downtime on site.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections and "snagging" lists to maintain the high-quality finish expected by Mattar Homes.
- Reporting: Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders, including budgetary tracking and site logs.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all site personnel adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Proven track record as a Site Engineer, specifically within the residential sector.
- Project Management: Strong grasp of project lifecycle management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Procurement: Experience in vendor management and material cost-control.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage laborers and liaise with clients.
Preferred "Plus" Skills
While not mandatory, candidates with proficiency in the following software will be given priority:
- Drafting & BIM: AutoCAD and Revit (for reviewing and modifying plans).
- Structural Analysis: ETABS (for verifying structural integrity and design checks).
- Previous experience in wood/log projects
