We are looking for an experienced and proactive Logistics Officer to join our FMCG operations based in Kinshasa RDC. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating international shipments, monitoring cargo from origin to destination, handling port and customs clearance processes, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- * Coordinate and manage international shipments from suppliers to the final destination.
- Monitor and track sea, air, and land shipments to ensure timely arrival and delivery.
- Follow up closely on all import documentation, including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and other required shipping documents.
- Coordinate with international suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, clearing agents, and relevant internal departments.
- Handle and follow up on port operations, including container arrivals, customs clearance, inspections, and cargo release.
- Monitor free time, container detention, demurrage, and port-related charges to avoid unnecessary costs.
- Follow up on dry, frozen, and perishable FMCG shipments, ensuring proper handling and timely clearance.
- Identify and resolve shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, customs issues, and other logistics-related challenges.
- Review logistics and shipping invoices and report any discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import requirements, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate logistics records and provide regular shipment and logistics reports to management.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
* 3–5 years of experience in logistics, international shipping, import operations, or freight forwarding.
* Experience in the FMCG industry* is highly preferred.
* Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, customs clearance, and port operations.
* Good understanding of import documentation and shipment tracking.
* Experience dealing with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and port authorities.

Language RequirementsProficiency in French, English, or Arabic is required. Knowledge of more than one language will be an advantage.
