Job SummarySESCO Steel is seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join its Technical Office team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the structural analysis and design of steel structures, preparing engineering calculations, reviewing project requirements, and coordinating with detailing, estimation, production, and project teams to ensure efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Engineering
- * Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures in accordance with applicable international codes and standards.
- Prepare structural calculations, design reports, and engineering documentation.
- Design steel connections and review connection calculations.
- Review project specifications, contract documents, and client requirements.
- Optimize structural designs for fabrication efficiency, erection feasibility, and cost effectiveness.
- Support the preparation of technical submittals and design deliverables.
- Coordinate with detailing teams to ensure design intent is accurately reflected in shop drawings.
- Provide technical support to production, project management, and site teams.
- Participate in design review meetings with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Technical Coordination
- * Coordinate with Estimation, Procurement, Production, and Project Management departments.
- Review and resolve technical queries during project execution.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and industry standards.
- Assist in value engineering initiatives and design optimization studies.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in Structural Steel Design.
* Experience in the Steel Fabrication Industry is mandatory*.
* Strong knowledge of structural steel analysis, design, and connection design.
* Proficiency in STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, IDEA StatiCa, or similar structural engineering software.
* Strong understanding of AISC, ASCE, IBC, Eurocode, or equivalent design standards.
* Ability to review fabrication drawings and coordinate with detailing teams.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
