Role Description The Senior Associate Lawyer (Bilingual) will handle a portfolio of cases and transactions across corporate, commercial, litigation, and advisory matters, providing strategic legal counsel to clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing contracts, pleadings, legal opinions, and memoranda, as well as representing clients before courts, governmental authorities, and regulatory bodies in Qatar. The role involves managing client relationships, mentoring junior team members, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring that work is delivered in line with Qatari law and international best practices. The Senior Associate will also support business development activities, contribute to knowledge sharing within the firm, and participate in internal quality and risk management processes. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Qatari law, with solid experience in one or more of the firm’s core practice areas (e.g., Corporate and Commercial, Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Employment, Real Estate and Construction, Banking and Finance).
- Proficiency in bilingual legal practice, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English, including drafting and reviewing complex legal documents in both languages.
- Demonstrated skills in legal research, analysis, and problem-solving, with the ability to interpret legislation, case law, and regulatory guidance and provide clear, practical advice.
- Client management and advisory skills, including the ability to build trust, manage expectations, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders from different cultural and professional backgrounds.
- Case and transaction management capabilities, including organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to manage multiple matters under deadlines.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of post-qualification experience as a lawyer, preferably in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department, with admission to practice law in Qatar or another relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience appearing before Qatari courts and authorities, or strong litigation support experience, is highly beneficial.
