Job Purpose:
The Inventory & Asset Lead is responsible for managing and controlling the company's construction materials, tools, equipment, machinery, spare parts, and other project assets across warehouses, construction sites, and project locations in Saudi Arabia.
The role ensures accurate inventory records, effective asset utilization, timely availability of materials and equipment, proper storage and handling, and compliance with company policies and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management
- Lead day-to-day inventory control across warehouses, yards, and construction sites.
- Maintain accurate records of construction materials, consumables, spare parts, tools, and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels, minimum/maximum quantities, and reorder requirements.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts, cycle counts, and annual inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, damages, and variances.
- Implement appropriate inventory control procedures to minimize losses and excess stock.
- Ensure proper identification, labeling, coding, and storage of inventory items.
- Asset Management
- Maintain an updated asset register covering construction equipment, vehicles, tools, machinery, IT assets, and other company/project assets.
- Track asset movements between warehouses, projects, workshops, and employees.
- Ensure assets are properly tagged, documented, and assigned to responsible projects.
- Monitor asset utilization, condition, location, and lifecycle.
- Coordinate asset transfers, returns, disposal, and replacement.
- Identify idle, underutilized, damaged, or obsolete assets and recommend appropriate action.
- Construction Equipment & Tools
- Coordinate with project teams regarding availability and allocation of equipment and tools.
- Monitor equipment deployment, utilization, operating hours, and move between projects.
- Maintain records of equipment inspections, maintenance, repairs, and cert. where applicable.
- Coordinate with the Plant/Equipment and Maintenance teams to ensure equip. availability.
- Monitor tools issued to site personnel and ensure proper return and accountability.
- Warehouse & Site Coordination
- Coordinate closely with warehouse, procurement, logistics, construction, and project teams.
- Ensure materials received, inspected, recorded, and issued according to approved procedures.
- Verify material receipts against purchase orders, delivery notes, and relevant documentation.
- Ensure proper documentation for material issues, transfers, returns, and site deliveries.
- Support project teams in maintaining accurate material and asset records at site level.
- Systems & Reporting
- Maintain accurate inventory and asset information within the company's ERP/WMS or asset management system.
- Ensure timely posting of receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and adjustments.
- Prepare monthly inventory and asset reports for management.
- Report inventory, slow-moving/obsolete stock, discrepancies, losses, and asset utilization.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards covering inventory accuracy, stock turnover, asset utilization, and inventory variance.
- Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, project requirements, and applicable KSA regulations.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for inventory and asset management.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place to prevent unauthorized use, loss, theft, or misappropriation of company assets.
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all inventory and asset transactions.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise and guide inventory controllers, storekeepers, asset coordinators, and related.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Train employees on inventory control, asset handling, documentation, and system procedures.
- Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent are an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of inventory, warehouse, logistics, and asset management principles.
Experience
- 7–10+ years of relevant experience in inventory, warehouse, asset, or materials management.
- Construction, infrastructure, EPC, oil & gas, or large-scale project experience preferred.
- Experience managing inventory and assets across multiple construction sites/projects in Saudi Arabia is highly desirable.
- Previous supervisory or team-leadership experience is required.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar is preferred.
