Role Summary:
The Technical Library IT Engineering Specialist is responsible for managing, maintaining, and enhancing the digital and technical library systems within the organization. The role ensures reliable access to technical documents, engineering standards, manuals, drawings, and digital resources through effective IT infrastructure support, system administration, and data management. The specialist works closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure seamless information flow and compliance with organizational standards.
Key responsibilities:
· Administer and maintain technical library systems, databases, and digital repositories.
· Ensure proper storage, indexing, classification, and retrieval of engineering documents, manuals, and technical references.
· Manage user access, permissions, and security protocols for library systems.
· Provide IT support for digital library platforms, including troubleshooting, updates, and system enhancements.
· Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure accurate and updated technical documentation.
· Implement backup, archiving, and disaster recovery procedures for library data.
· Support integration of new technologies such as cloud storage, digital cataloging tools, and automated indexing systems.
· Maintain compliance with organizational policies, IT standards, and cybersecurity requirements.
· Train staff on the use of library systems and digital tools.
· Prepare periodic reports on system performance, usage statistics, and improvement opportunities.

Required Qualification & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Information System, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or digital library management.
- Strong knowledge of database management, digital archiving, and document control systems.
- Proficiency in networking, system troubleshooting, and IT infrastructure support.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) orelectronic library platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and technical teams.
- Good communication skills and ability to train end users.
