Role Summary:The HSE Specialist drives a strong safety culture and ensures operational compliance across facility operations. This role focuses on maintaining workplace safety standards, leading continuous improvement through 5S, managing incident reporting, coordinating safety training, and ensuring full compliance with local Saudi Arabian HSE legislation and Flowserve corporate standards.
Key Task Responsibilities
- Maintain high level of housekeeping. Implement and maintain 5S in the facility. Perform 5’S audit every 3 months.
- Conduct walk through safety inspection on a daily basis and report findings to immediate supervisor and enter findings in Sphera.
- Review local standards and ensure that those requirements are brought to the attention of immediate supervisor and top management.
- Conduct monthly HSE committee and weekly toolbox meeting. Provide reports.
- Report all Near miss/First aid/Loss time, environmental/fire/vehicular incident to SPHERA. Encourage all associates in the site to report observation in Sphera
- Review all reports in SHPERA and update HSE RAIL on a regular basis.
- Manage environmental, health, and safety activities through strong leadership, communication, motivation and direction of safety committee.
- Conduct a rigorous incident investigation process focused on, prevention, root cause analysis and injury prevention leading indicators.
- Coordinate safety training for all employees in the areas of Safety Health & Environmental matters
- Develop and administer New Hire Orientation Safety Training Investigate and maintain records for all work-related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist department management in the development of effective health and safety countermeasures to continuously improve safety objectives.
- Serve as co-chair on the Joint Health and Safety Committee and help to coordinate activities, recommendations, and accountability of issues identified by the Safety regulations and Flowserve corporate audits.
- Conduct monthly workplace safety audits and establish measurable standards from which further recommendations (continuous improvement) can be made, with effective follow-up.
- Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills
- Ensure all environmental reports are submitted accurately and on time pertaining air, storm water and sanitary sewer discharge permits.
Qualification Requirement:
- * BS/BA Graduate of any 4 year course, or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
- NEBOSH International general certificate in OHS
- Detailed knowledge of ISO-9001, 14001 and 45001
- With at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- With good English communication skills.
- MHRSD professional certificate (Kawader)
- Excellent knowledge of Saudi Arabia health, safety and environment legislation
