- Role Description
- MAVEN is seeking an experienced General Manager for a full-time, on-site position based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
- The General Manager will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the company’s operations, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with required quality and technical standards.

The successful candidate will provide leadership across operations, projects, commercial activities, business development, and team performance while supporting the company’s continued growth and long-term strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
-
Oversee the company’s day-to-day operations and ensure effective coordination across projects and departments.
- Monitor project performance, including progress, cost, quality, manpower, procurement, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure projects are completed within approved budgets, contractual requirements, and agreed timelines.
- Lead, manage, and develop project managers, engineers, commercial teams, and operational staff.
- Establish clear performance objectives and monitor departmental and individual KPIs.
- Review financial performance, project profitability, cash flow, budgets, forecasts, and operational costs.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, cost efficiency, and operational processes.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, main contractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
- Support commercial negotiations, contract administration, claims, variations, and major procurement decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, HSE requirements, quality standards, contractual obligations, and applicable UAE regulations.
- Work closely with the management team to develop and implement business strategies and annual operating plans.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and potential market sectors.
- Support tendering, pricing, resource planning, and commercial decision-making for major projects.
- Drive continuous improvement across project delivery, reporting, systems, and internal controls.

Ensure all departments and projects remain aligned with MAVEN’s long-term business objectives and growth strategy.

Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven senior management experience within the construction, contracting, structural rehabilitation, concrete repair, or related engineering sectors.
- Strong leadership, team-management, and people-development capabilities, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated experience in operations management, project execution, commercial management, and process improvement.
- Strong understanding of construction operations, particularly structural strengthening, concrete repair, waterproofing, rehabilitation works, or similar specialist contracting activities.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, project profitability, cash-flow management, and performance monitoring.
- Good understanding of contracts, variations, claims, procurement, subcontractor management, and project risk.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, decision-making, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability with a practical and results-oriented management approach.
- Experience working within the UAE.
- Familiarity with UAE construction regulations, authority requirements, HSE standards, and industry practices is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced contracting environment.
- Must be able to work full-time and on-site in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
