Role Description The Carpet Designer will create original carpet patterns, color palettes, and layouts that align with Menessi Carpets’ brand and client requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing design concepts, producing detailed sketches or digital renderings, preparing technical specifications for production, and collaborating with weaving and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility. The role involves meeting with internal stakeholders or clients to refine design briefs, adapting designs for different sizes and applications, and maintaining a portfolio of designs for future collections. The Carpet Designer will also monitor industry trends, materials, and techniques to propose new ideas and support product innovation. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated skills in textile or carpet design, including pattern creation, color matching, and layout planning.
* Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD or textile design software) and hand sketching.
* Understanding of weaving techniques, yarn types, and carpet construction, with the ability to translate designs into production-ready specifications.
* Strong visual communication skills, including the ability to present concepts, gather feedback, and incorporate revisions effectively.
* Relevant education in Textile Design, Interior Design, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Ability to work on-site in Cairo, collaborate in a team environment, and manage multiple design projects to meet deadlines.
* Attention to detail, creativity, and an interest in current design, décor, and flooring trends.
* Prior experience in carpet or rug design, or in textile and surface pattern design, is an advantage.
