Job Purpose:
The Asset Control Lead is responsible for overseeing the effective control, tracking, utilization, maintenance coordination, and lifecycle management of the company's construction equipment, vehicles, tools, and other physical assets.
The role ensures that all assets are properly registered, assigned, monitored, maintained, transferred, and disposed of in accordance with company policies, project requirements, and applicable KSA regulations. The position also provides accurate asset data and reports to support operational and management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Asset Control & Tracking
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date master register of all company assets.
- Monitor the location, status, ownership, assignment, and utilization of construction equipment, vehicles, tools, and other assets.
- Ensure assets are properly tagged, coded, and recorded in the company's ERP/asset management system.
- Control asset movements between projects, warehouses, workshops, and other company locations.
- Maintain proper documentation for asset transfers, handovers, receipts, and returns.
- Conduct regular physical verification and reconciliation of assets.
- Equipment & Fleet Coordination
- Monitor the deployment and utilization of heavy equipment, light vehicles, machinery, generators, lifting equipment, and tools.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure equipment availability meets operational requirements.
- Track equipment downtime, idle assets, utilization rates, and operational status.
- Identify underutilized, excess, obsolete, or surplus assets and recommend appropriate action.
- Coordinate with maintenance and workshop teams regarding asset availability and condition.
- Asset Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all asset documentation is complete, accurate, and readily available.
- Maintain records including ownership documents, registration, insurance, inspection certificates, warranties, maintenance records, and operating permits, where applicable.
- Ensure equipment and vehicles comply with company requirements and applicable Saudi regulations.
- Monitor expiry dates for registrations, insurance, certifications, inspections, and other statutory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to company assets.
- Inventory & Physical Verification
- Plan and conduct periodic asset counts and physical verification exercises.
- Investigate discrepancies between physical assets and system records.
- Prepare reconciliation reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Establish controls to minimize asset loss, misuse, unauthorized transfers, and inaccurate records.
- Coordinate with warehouse and project personnel during asset audits.
- Asset Transfers & Mobilization
- Control the mobilization and demobilization of assets between projects and locations.
- Verify assets before dispatch and upon receipt at the destination.
- Ensure proper handover documentation and acknowledgment by responsible personnel.
- Coordinate with logistics, transportation, project, procurement, and equipment teams as required.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare regular asset control and utilization reports for management.
- Develop KPIs covering asset utilization, availability, downtime, idle equipment, losses, and asset movements.
- Analyze asset data and identify opportunities to improve utilization and reduce costs.
- Provide management with recommendations regarding replacement, disposal, rental, purchase, or redeployment of assets.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise Asset Controllers, Coordinators, and other asset control personnel.
- Allocate work, establish priorities, and monitor team performance.
- Train employees on asset control procedures, documentation, and system requirements.
- Promote accountability and proper asset-handling practices across projects.
- Process Improvement
- Develop and implement effective asset control procedures and workflows.
- Improve asset tracking through ERP systems, barcode/RFID technology, GPS, or other digital solutions.
- Identify gaps in existing asset control processes and implement corrective measures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve asset visibility, utilization, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Asset Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Equipment Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications in asset management, logistics, fleet management, or supply chain are an advantage.
- Knowledge of construction equipment and fleet operations is highly preferred.
Experience
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in asset control, equipment management, fleet management, or construction operations.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience in a large construction, infrastructure, EPC, or contracting organization is preferred.
- Saudi Arabia/GCC construction experience is highly desirable.
- Experience managing assets across multiple construction projects or remote sites is an advantage.
Technical Skills

- Experience with ERP/asset management systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
