Responsibilities
Our newest opportunity is for a talented Traffic Engineer to join our award-winning team based in Doha, Qatar.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking traffic engineering, transportation and road safety assessments, providing technical input to projects and ensuring compliance with applicable local and international standards.
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Undertaking traffic engineering studies, assessments, investigations and road safety audits.
- Reviewing traffic management proposals, designs, reports and technical deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable standards and guidelines.
- Providing technical input and recommendations on traffic operations, road safety and transportation engineering matters.
- Ensuring project deliverables comply with QCS 2014, relevant Qatar Highway Design Manuals, Traffic Manuals and other applicable standards.
- Identifying technical issues and project risks and providing appropriate solutions and recommendations.
- Coordinating with project teams, clients, authorities and other stakeholders on traffic and transportation-related matters.
- Providing technical guidance and support to engineers and other members of the project team.
- Where required, taking a lead role in the technical delivery and review of traffic engineering assignments.
- Maintaining effective client relationships and contributing to the successful delivery of project objectives.
Qualifications
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include ideally around 15 years of relevant experience in traffic engineering and transportation projects, partnered with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of traffic engineering, transportation planning, road safety and relevant design standards.
- Demonstrated experience on major road and infrastructure projects.
- Ability to review technical deliverables and provide sound engineering recommendations.
- Experience in providing technical guidance to project teams and coordinating with clients and stakeholders will be highly valued.
- MME Registration is mandatory for applicants residing in Qatar. Candidates from outside Qatar must be eligible to obtain MME Registration upon joining the organisation.
- Membership of the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) will be viewed favourably.
