Work Your Magic with us!
Ready to explore, break barriers, and discover more? We know you’ve got big plans – so do we! Our colleagues across the globe love innovating with science and technology to enrich people’s lives with our solutions in Healthcare, Life Science, and Electronics. Together, we dream big and are passionate about caring for our rich mix of people, customers, patients, and planet. That's why we are always looking for curious minds that see themselves imagining the unimaginable with us.
Our Platform Engineering team builds the foundations that enable engineering teams to move with confidence. We provide the tools, automation, and self-service platform capabilities that make secure, reliable software delivery the easy path.
As a Software Engineer at Expert 2 level, you will independently deliver meaningful platform capabilities and improvements. You will solve low-to-moderate-complexity engineering problems, make thoughtful technical recommendations within your area, and collaborate across teams to improve how software is built, delivered, and operated.
This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys building products for other engineers: practical solutions that remove friction, standardize good practices, and scale through automation.
Your roleYou will design and implement platform tools, services, integrations, and automations that improve developer productivity and engineering reliability. You will take ownership of defined problem areas, work with stakeholders to understand needs, and use established patterns and best practices to deliver high-quality solutions.
What You Will Do
- Design, build, test, document, and operate internal platform capabilities, developer tools, and automated workflows.
- Deliver self-service solutions that enable engineering teams to provision, configure, deploy, or operate common capabilities with less manual effort.
- Identify repeatable engineering activities and improve them through well-designed automation.
- Independently investigate and resolve low-to-moderate-complexity technical and operational problems, escalating or partnering on broader issues when appropriate.
- Contribute to the technical approach for your work, evaluate options, and make sound recommendations based on user needs, maintainability, reliability, and security.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, integrations, APIs, and services that support consistent software delivery.
- Apply engineering best practices for testing, code quality, observability, security, and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with software, data, cloud, security, and operations stakeholders to understand problems, align on solutions, and drive adoption.
- Contribute substantive implementation input to technical designs, architecture discussions, runbooks, and platform documentation.
- Participate constructively in code reviews and help less experienced colleagues improve through practical feedback and knowledge sharing.
- Keep current with relevant technologies, including cloud-native engineering and emerging AI/ML capabilities, and identify pragmatic opportunities to apply them.
Who You AreRequired qualifications and experience
- * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in software engineering.
- Strong practical software-engineering skills and experience delivering production-quality code in at least one general-purpose programming language; Python is particularly relevant.
- Experience with modern engineering practices, including Git, automated testing, code review, APIs, debugging, and CI/CD.
- Ability to work independently on defined problems, analyze factual information and solution options, and make sound technical judgments within established guidelines.
- Experience collaborating with technical stakeholders and explaining technical topics clearly in writing and conversation.
- Clear written and spoken English.
Valuable Experience
- * Hands-on experience with data-engineering technologies or patterns, including Python, SQL, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and data-pipeline development.
- Experience building on AWS and using infrastructure-as-code practices or tools.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD platforms, and DevOps practices.
- Experience building internal developer platforms, shared engineering services, or tooling used by multiple teams.
- Knowledge of current AI/ML developments, LLMs, and agentic engineering, with the judgment to apply them responsibly to real engineering problems.
What Will Help You Thrive
- * An automation-first mindset: you look beyond the immediate fix and find repeatable ways to eliminate toil.
- A platform-engineering mindset: you treat internal engineers as users and create simple, well-supported paths for them to succeed.
- Comfort balancing delivery with operational quality, security, and long-term maintainability.
- The confidence to own a defined area of work while collaborating early on problems that cross teams or require broader decisions.
- A practical, user-focused approach to technology: you favor solutions that are useful, reliable, and easy to adopt over novelty for its own sake.
