The Patient Services Specialist will play a vital role at myteem, handling a diverse range of tasks including inbound and outbound calls with patients, preparing charts by obtaining their medical information, and providing assistance by answering questions and addressing concerns.
Essential Functions
- Inbound and Outbound Communication: Engage with patients via phone calls in a professional and empathetic manner. Handle inbound inquiries regarding medical services, appointments, and general queries. Make outbound calls to patients for appointment reminders and follow-ups. This might also include rerouting calls within the practice.
- Chart Preparation: Collect and organize patients' medical information to prepare accurate and up-to-date charts. Ensure all necessary documentation is obtained and properly recorded.
- Patient Support: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patients' questions, concerns, and requests promptly and accurately. Assist patients with scheduling appointments, obtaining medical records, and navigating healthcare procedures.
- Data Entry and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, including detailed notes of conversations and actions taken. Enter data into electronic systems with precision and attention to detail.
- Prior Authorizations: Issuing PAs to insurance companies in order for the patient to obtain medical treatment or receive a medical drug prescription.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Professional proficiency in English. Proficiency in Spanish is a bonus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry and experience with electronic medical records systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and information security.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting or customer service role is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Special Considerations:
- Schedule to fulfill: Monday to Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Beirut Time; total of 9 hours per day, being 8 working hours and 1 hour break. Part-time shifts available.
