Job Overview:
As an Art Director at WonderEight, you will be a creative visionary responsible for leading and directing the visual design and artistic direction of projects. You will collaborate closely with the creative team, account managers, and clients to develop impactful visual concepts that effectively communicate brand messages and resonate with target audiences. Your artistic expertise, leadership skills, and ability to translate ideas into compelling visuals will contribute to the agency's success.
Your Role is to…
- Creative Leadership: Provide artistic and creative leadership to the design team, inspiring and guiding them to deliver innovative and visually stunning solutions.
- Concept Development: Collaborate with clients, account managers and the creative team to develop creative concepts for campaigns and comms including graphics, illustrations, layouts, multimedia elements, in addition to visual strategies & assets, and design briefs that align with clients' objectives.
- Design Direction: Oversee the design process, ensuring that concepts are executed with excellence and adhere to clients' brand guidelines and objectives. Present and communicate design concepts to clients, articulating the creative rationale and ensuring alignment with client expectations.
- Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Client Engagement: Lead creatively while presenting design concepts, addressing feedback, and building strong client relationships.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with graphic designers, copywriters, and other creative professionals to integrate design seamlessly into marketing campaigns. Also collaborate with external vendors, photographers, and illustrators as needed to support project needs. Coordinate directly with the production team/Finalizer to ensure final design assets are prepared and optimized for various platforms and mediums.
- Trend Research: Stay updated with design trends, emerging technologies, and industry developments to ensure that the agency's work remains fresh and cutting-edge.
- Quality Assurance: Review and approve design work to ensure it meets the highest quality standards, including aesthetics, brand alignment, and creativity.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering their growth and development within the agency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience as Art Director or Junior Art Director at a marketing agency.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of creative projects and design styles, specially in communications and campaigns.
- Proficiency in graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva & Ai tools.
- Exceptional visual design skills, including layout composition, typography, and color theory.
- Creative thinking and the ability to develop unique and innovative design concepts.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design ideas and concepts.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience guiding and motivating a creative team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality design work.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and interact effectively with clients.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
