The IFRC Humanitarian Diplomacy and Communications Department is part of the Humanitarian Diplomacy and Digitalization Division. This position reports to the Lead, Digital Communications and Engagement. The Digital Communications Team is a global function led from IFRC Headquarters in Geneva. Its core operational capacity is based in the MENA Regional Office in Beirut, complemented by team members located across other strategic locations to provide coordinated global support. Working closely with headquarters, regional offices, delegations and National Societies, the team strengthens IFRC's digital communication ecosystem through coordinated digital communications, digital content, innovation and support to organizational priorities, campaigns and emergency communications.Job PurposeUnder the guidance and direct supervision of the Lead, Digital Communications and Engagement, the Senior Officer, Digital Content Producer is responsible for leading the editorial management, content production and publishing of IFRC's global digital platforms, with primary responsibility for the organization's global website.
The role ensures digital content is timely, accurate, engaging and aligned with IFRC's editorial standards, organizational priorities and strategic objectives. Working closely with headquarters, regional offices and National Societies, the incumbent develops compelling digital and multimedia content, manages multilingual publishing, and contributes to amplifying locally led humanitarian action through high-quality storytelling.
The position also leads the production and continuous improvement of IFRC's global website and digital publishing practices, using audience insights, analytics, SEO and emerging digital technologies to enhance content quality, user experience and organizational impact.
Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesWebsite Management and Digital Publishing
- Lead the editorial management and day-to-day operation of IFRC's global website, ensuring it remains the organization's primary digital platform.
- Manage the publishing, maintenance and continuous improvement of website content, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, consistency and compliance with IFRC editorial standards.
- Coordinate the work of multilingual content editors to ensure timely publication and consistency across language versions.
- Identify opportunities to improve website functionality and user experience, working closely with technical teams to implement enhancements.
Digital Content Production and Storytelling
- * Produce, edit and publish high-quality digital content that supports IFRC's organizational priorities, humanitarian operations and advocacy objectives.
- Develop compelling written, visual and multimedia stories that amplify locally led humanitarian action and community voices.
- Produce and manage the IFRC podcast, including editorial planning, production, promotion and performance monitoring.
- Support the implementation of digital communication plans by developing content packages and digital assets for priority initiatives and emergency communications.

- * Ensure digital content reflects IFRC's editorial standards, brand guidelines and strategic messaging.
- Review, edit and optimize digital content to ensure consistency, accuracy, accessibility and audience relevance.
- Coordinate editorial workflows and publishing schedules to ensure timely delivery of priority content.
Digital Content Optimization
- * Monitor website and content performance using analytics, SEO and audience insights.
- Recommend and implement improvements to strengthen content discoverability, user experience and digital performance.
- Apply emerging digital tools and AI-enabled technologies to improve content production and publishing workflows.
Collaboration and Technical Support
- * Work closely with the Lead, Digital Communications and Engagement to implement digital communication priorities and support the coordination of digital content across headquarters, regional offices and National Societies.
- Collaborate with communications colleagues, technical teams and external suppliers to ensure the timely production and publication of digital content.
- Provide technical guidance and support on website publishing, content management systems and digital publishing standards across the organization.
Education
*Required** University degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations or another relevant field.
*Preferred** Specialized training or certification in digital content production, website management, multimedia production, SEO, digital analytics or AI-enabled communication tools.
ExperienceRequired
- * Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in digital communications, digital content production, journalism, editorial communications or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience producing, editing and publishing digital content across websites and other digital platforms.
- Experience managing digital content across websites and other digital platforms using content management systems (CMS).
- Strong experience in digital storytelling, multimedia content production and editorial planning.
- Experience using analytics, SEO and digital publishing best practices to optimize content performance and user experience.
- Experience working collaboratively in multicultural and decentralized organizations, coordinating with multiple stakeholders and contributors.
*Preferred** Experience in the humanitarian, development, international organization or non-profit sector.
* Experience producing podcasts, audiovisual content or other multimedia products.
* Experience using AI-enabled content creation tools and emerging digital technologies.
