Role Purpose
The Account Manager owns the overall success and growth of assigned client accounts. This includes client relationships, strategic direction, delivery oversight, growth opportunities, and internal coordination to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes. The Account Manager owns the overall account strategy and acts as a strategic advisor to the client, ensuring alignment between business objectives, execution, and growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
Client Ownership & Relationship Management
- Own day-to-day client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients.
- Understand client business objectives, priorities, and challenges.
- Address concerns, manage expectations, and resolve issues professionally.
Account Strategy & Growth
- Define, own, and continuously refine the overall account strategy, ensuring all initiatives, deliverables, and recommendations align with the client’s business objectives and growth goals.
- Translate client objectives into clear account plans and priorities.
- Identify opportunities for growth, upsell, and expanded scopes of work.
- Proactively propose ideas, initiatives, and improvements aligned with client goals.
- Track account performance and health, including risks and improvement areas.
Project & Delivery Oversight
- Oversee multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
- Ensure projects are scoped correctly, timelines are realistic, and resources are aligned.
- Lead project kick-offs to ensure clarity on scope, deliverables, roles, and timelines.
- Monitor progress, identify risks or bottlenecks early, and drive resolution.
Internal Coordination & Communication
- Lead and coordinate the activities of Account Executives assigned to their respective accounts, providing direction, prioritization, and oversight to ensure consistent delivery, client alignment, and account performance.
- Act as the bridge between clients and internal teams (creative, content, strategy, traffic).
- Communicate client briefs clearly and ensure internal alignment before execution.
- Ensure feedback is consolidated, clear, and actionable.
- Coordinate internal reviews and cross-checks before client delivery.
Quality & Standards
- Ensure deliverables meet agreed quality standards before client submission.
- Enforce internal approval and quality control processes.
- Support continuous improvement by sharing feedback and insights across teams.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Review and monitor account performance and analytics metrics.
- Work with strategists and internal teams to prepare monthly performance reports.
- Translate data and insights into clear recommendations and next steps for clients.
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Maintain accurate account documentation, timelines, and decisions.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
- Contribute to refining processes, tools, and ways of working.
Requirements
- Agency experience is mandatory.
- Experience managing organic social media is required.
- 5+ years of work experience as an Account Manager in an agency or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of advertising, marketing, and branding principles.
- Proficiency in project management tools like Asana.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
