ZUHAIR MURAD is seeking a highly motivated Digital Embroidery Designer to contribute to the creation and development of the house’s signature embroideries and textile artworks. The ideal candidate will possess a strong artistic sensibility, a deep understanding of textile decoration techniques, and the ability to translate creative concepts into refined embroidery designs while balancing artistic vision with technical precision for Couture, Bridal, and Ready-to-Wear collections.
The duties will be but not limited to:
Creative Research & Concept Development
- Conduct research and prepare visual boards to support seasonal themes and embroidery direction.
- Convert artwork and creative inputs from the Creative Director | Design Studio Manager into embroidery concepts (hand‑drawn or digitizing software).
Embroidery Artwork Creation
- Develop embroidery motifs, layouts, and full artworks for Couture, RTW, and Bridal lines.
- Produce detailed technical sheets specifying stitches, textures, placements, and materials.
- Adjust designs based on fabric type, stitch limitations, and production requirements
- Simulate embroidery placements, colorways, and texture effects on garment sketches.
- Ensure artwork follows the brand’s aesthetic codes: luxury craftsmanship, heritage references, and modern refinement.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure design feasibility and quality
- Review and edit customer-supplied artwork for embroidery compatibility
- Conduct test runs and refine designs to achieve optimal results
Development Follow‑Up
- Coordinate with ateliers, suppliers, and embroidery workshops to ensure correct interpretation of designs.
- Track progress, update boards, and manage revisions throughout the development lifecycle.
- Review prototypes, assist during embroidery trials, and adjust designs based on atelier feedback.
Studio Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with graphic designers, textile designers, patternmakers, and atelier teams.
- Participate in fittings, collection presentations, and internal reviews when required.
- Support the studio’s organizational flow (archiving embroidery samples, managing swatches, maintaining development databases
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent hand-drawing & digital illustration skills.
- Strong command of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Understanding of embroidery techniques: beading, threadwork, appliqué, 3D embroidery, and mixed media.
- Ability to translate complex visuals into technically clear embroidery instructions.
- Highly organized, meticulous, and able to work under tight deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Textile Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design with a textile focus, or equivalent specialization.
- Strong artistic sensibility aligned with luxury fashion and high-end embroidery craftsmanship.
