Role Description The Logistics Supply Chain Specialist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairo, Egypt. The specialist will manage end-to-end supply chain activities, including procurement coordination, inventory control, and order processing to ensure timely delivery of medical equipment and supplies. Daily responsibilities include planning and monitoring transportation, tracking shipments, and resolving logistics issues to maintain smooth operations. The role involves working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to optimize stock levels, improve lead times, and support project timelines. The specialist will also analyze data and performance metrics to recommend process improvements and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Job Purpose
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the supply, logistics, and inventory movement of medical devices and equipment from suppliers to warehouses, projects, hospitals, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Planning
- Prepare supply plans based on sales forecasts, project requirements, and current stock levels.
- Determine required quantities and expected delivery dates for medical devices and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels and identify shortages or excess inventory.
- Coordinate equipment requirements with Sales, Projects, Maintenance, and Procurement.
- Follow up on planned purchases and expected shipments to ensure availability on time.
Supply Chain
- Follow up on purchase orders from order confirmation until receipt of goods.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding availability, lead times, shipment status, and delivery dates.
- Monitor the supply cycle and escalate delays that may affect operations or projects.
- Maintain an updated status of pending orders, shipments, and expected arrivals.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Finance to resolve supply-related issues.
Logistics
- Plan and coordinate transportation and delivery of medical equipment to hospitals, projects, customers, and other locations.
- Coordinate with drivers and transportation providers and assign delivery schedules.
- Ensure equipment is delivered according to the required date and location.
- Follow up on delivery status and obtain proof of delivery.
- Coordinate equipment collection, returns, and transfers between locations.
- Monitor logistics costs and maintain related records.
Warehouse & Inventory Control
- Monitor all incoming and outgoing medical equipment from the warehouse.
- Ensure all receipts, issues, transfers, and returns are properly documented in the ERP system.
- Track equipment by item, model, serial number, quantity, and location.
- Monitor transfers of equipment between warehouses, projects, hospitals, and customers.
- Reconcile physical stock with system balances and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor equipment allocated to projects or customers until final delivery/installation.
- Coordinate and participate in periodic physical inventory counts.
- Prepare reports on stock levels, inventory movement, shortages, excess stock, and discrepancies.
Reporting
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports covering:
- Stock status
- Incoming shipments
- Pending purchase orders
- Equipment movement
- Deliveries and pending deliveries
- Warehouse discrepancies
- Provide management with updates on supply, logistics, and inventory issues requiring action.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Inventory/Warehouse Management.
- Experience in the Medical Devices / Healthcare industry is highly preferred.
- Strong experience in logistics and warehouse coordination.
- Experience handling medical equipment and serial-number-controlled inventory.
- Good knowledge of ERP systems; Odoo experience is an advantage.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and follow-up skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Good command of English, written and spoken.
