Role Description The Colorization Artist is a Part-time, on-site(Project Base), role based in Cairo, Egypt. This role is responsible for transforming black-and-white or raw footage into color-balanced, visually compelling content that aligns with Rotana’s creative and technical standards. Day-to-day tasks include colorizing legacy film and television content, performing detailed color grading and correction, and ensuring visual continuity and each member will perform the same core scope of work, which includes frame masking, rotoscoping, digital brush painting via Wacom tablets.
Qualifications
The position requires a mid-to-advanced skill level, including:
- Proven hands-on experience with rotoscoping, masking, and digital paint techniques
- Proficiency with Wacom tablet-based workflows and pressure sensitive brush work
- Working knowledge of professional compositing/paint tools, primarily DaVinci Resolve, followed by Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects/Premiere/Photoshop), and ideally Silhouette, Mocha Pro, or equivalent
- Working knowledge of macOS (OSX) environments and workflows
- Understanding of color fundamentals and visual continuity
- High attention to detail and the ability to maintain quality consistency over long-form content
- Ability to follow reference-based color direction and adhere to established pipeline standards
- Prior experience in film restoration, VFX paint/prep, or archival content is a strong advantage
- Hard working and full dedication for the project
