Role Description The Building Materials Architect Engineer will be responsible for designing and specifying flooring and related building materials for commercial and residential projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and Forbo product standards. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing architectural drawings, preparing technical proposals and material submittals, coordinating with sales and project teams, and providing technical support during installation and maintenance. The role also involves conducting site visits, assessing project conditions, advising on appropriate systems and solutions, and ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, safety standards, and sustainability guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in New Cairo, requiring regular collaboration with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality, cost-effective flooring solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of architecture, building materials, and interior finishes, particularly flooring systems and related installation methods.
- Proficiency in technical drawing and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and the ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans.
- Understanding of local building codes, safety regulations, and sustainable design principles relevant to commercial and residential projects.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, project management, and installation crews, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field; experience in flooring or building materials is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in New Cairo and conduct regular site visits and inspections as required.
