Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Beirut. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial transactions, including recording journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling accounts. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, monitoring budgets, handling accounts payable and receivable, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The role involves ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations, assisting with audits, and providing clear, timely financial reports to management. The Accountant will collaborate closely with store operations and administrative teams to support accurate cost tracking and overall financial efficiency.
Qualifications
* Strong skills in general accounting, including ledger management, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
* Experience with budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis to support retail operations.
* Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid Microsoft Excel skills.
* Knowledge of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit processes.
* Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
* Ability to work on-site, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA or equivalent) are an advantage.
* Previous accounting experience in retail or a similar industry is preferred.
