Job Purpose
The Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating engineering and construction activities across Daher Foods' facilities. The role ensures projects are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines. The Site Engineer works closely with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to support the successful delivery of facility expansion, infrastructure, maintenance, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision & Project Execution
- Supervise and coordinate daily site activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Monitor contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate site activities with engineering, production, maintenance, and project teams to minimize operational disruptions.
- Verify work progress against project schedules and identify potential delays or risks.
- Support project planning, sequencing, and resource allocation to optimize execution.
2. Technical Coordination & Engineering Support
- Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, and material submittals for compliance and constructability.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and resolve engineering and execution issues on site.
- Coordinate design clarifications and technical changes with consultants and internal engineering teams.
- Assist in evaluating construction methods, materials, and technical solutions to improve project efficiency.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable engineering standards, local regulations, and company requirements.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Conduct routine site inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout project execution.
- Verify that construction activities comply with approved designs, specifications, and quality procedures.
- Monitor testing, inspections, commissioning activities, and final project handover requirements.
- Report non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions until resolution.
- Maintain accurate site documentation, inspection records, progress reports, and project logs.
4. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with Daher Foods' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and ensure contractors adhere to safe work practices.
- Identify project risks and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with safety regulations.
5. Project Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and budgets.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Track project quantities, material consumption, and work completion.
- Support project close-out documentation and final handover activities.
- Coordinate project meetings and provide technical updates to management.
Undertake additional responsibilities as required, in line with the scope, level, and objectives of the role.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in site engineering, construction supervision, industrial projects, or facility development.
- Experience supervising contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary construction activities.
- Experience in industrial facilities or manufacturing environments is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering practices, and industrial project execution.
- Ability to review engineering drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and material submittals.
- Experience with site inspections, quality control, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical and execution challenges.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and project reporting tools.
- Familiarity with project scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera) is an advantage.
- Good understanding of HSE requirements, construction regulations, and quality management systems.
Languages
- Fluency in Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
