We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Beirut, Lebanon.
Responsibilities
• Lead the technical selection, sizing, and specification of pumps and pumping systems based on project and client requirements.
• Review technical specifications, drawings, BOQs, tender documents, and client requirements to develop appropriate engineering solutions.
• Prepare technical proposals, equipment selections, datasheets, compliance statements, and supporting technical documentation.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and assess system requirements including flow, head, pressure, operating conditions, and system performance.
• Provide technical guidance and support to clients on pump applications, system optimization and equipment selection.
• Coordinate with suppliers and international manufacturers regarding technical specifications, product selection, quotations, and project requirements.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up of pumping systems, while diagnosing technical issues and recommending improvements related to pump performance, maintenance, and repairs.
• Review existing pumping systems and recommend solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, and operational performance.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders throughout project execution.
• Stay updated on developments in pumping technologies, mechanical systems, energy efficiency, and relevant engineering standards.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within pumps, mechanical equipment, water systems, electromechanical systems, or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, pumping systems, hydraulic principles, and mechanical equipment.
• Proven experience in pump selection, sizing, system analysis, and hydraulic calculations, with strong understanding of pump and system curves, operating points, NPSH, efficiency, motors, and variable frequency drives.
• Experience reviewing technical specifications, BOQs, drawings, tenders, and engineering documentation, with hands-on exposure to installation, commissioning and maintenance of pumping equipment.
• Ability to prepare clear and professional technical proposals and engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with engineering selection software and AutoCAD is considered an advantage.
• Fluency in English and Arabic is required; French is considered an advantage.
