Job Objective
Your role as QA Engineer is to independently plan, execute, automate, and document quality assurance activities across web, mobile, backend APIs, integrations, and business workflows. You will own feature-level quality from requirement analysis through release validation, develop and maintain manual and automated tests, identify quality risks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and high-quality software delivery.
Main Tasks
- Review and analyze requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, designs, API documentation, and technical specifications to identify testing requirements, dependencies, potential gaps, and quality risks.
- Design and maintain detailed test cases and scenarios covering positive and negative scenarios, edge cases, integration points, regression requirements, and business-critical workflows.
- Independently execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, API, web, mobile, and end-to-end testing for assigned features and modules.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for assigned web, mobile, API, and regression flows using approved automation tools and frameworks.
- Maintain existing automation suites by updating scripts, test data, selectors, assertions, and expected results to ensure tests remain stable, accurate, and relevant as applications evolve.
- Perform comprehensive API testing by validating request and response structures, authentication and authorization, error handling, status codes, callbacks, webhooks, and integrations with internal or third-party systems.
- Perform database validation using SQL queries to verify data integrity, transaction results, status changes, data persistence, and backend processing related to tested workflows.
- Identify, document, and track defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps, severity and priority recommendations, logs, screenshots, recordings, API samples, environment information, and other relevant technical evidence.
- Re-test resolved defects, validate corrective actions, and perform impact-based regression testing to ensure changes do not negatively affect related functionality or existing business flows.
- Prepare and validate test data, testing environments, configurations, integrations, and prerequisites required for effective feature and regression testing.
- Support release readiness by validating critical workflows, reviewing outstanding defects and quality risks, completing required regression coverage, and preparing supporting QA evidence.
- Prepare and maintain QA execution reports, automation results, defect summaries, testing evidence, identified risks, and release validation notes for assigned features and releases.
- Collaborate with Product, Development, DevOps, Support, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, reproduce issues, validate end-to-end business flows, and ensure identified defects are properly addressed.
- Provide guidance to Junior QA Engineers when required, including support with test execution, defect reporting, testing evidence, and basic automation activities.
- Escalate critical quality risks, complex automation framework issues, unclear or conflicting requirements, environment constraints, and production-critical concerns to Senior or Lead QA Engineers.
- Ensure proper Jira traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, automation coverage, testing evidence, and release validation activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance covering manual and/or automation testing.
- Hands-on experience testing web, mobile, backend APIs, integrations, and end-to-end business workflows.
- Experience designing test cases, performing regression testing, managing defects, and supporting software release validation.
- Practical exposure to test automation, API testing, and database validation is required.
- Professional proficiency in Local Language and English is required.
- Good understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, Agile delivery, defect lifecycle, test planning, and release validation processes.
- Good experience in manual testing across web, mobile, APIs, integrations, and end-to-end business workflows.
- Good test design skills covering functional, negative, edge-case, integration, and regression scenarios.
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Newman, REST Assured, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with at least one automation technology such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, pytest, JUnit, NUnit, or similar.
- Good SQL knowledge for database validation, data integrity checks, and backend verification.
- Ability to independently develop, execute, troubleshoot, and maintain automation scripts for assigned features.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and automated test execution within development pipelines.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Good documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to work independently on assigned QA activities.
