Position Summary
Responsible for collecting, analyzing, validating, and presenting data to support business decisions, operational efficiency, performance monitoring, and strategic reporting. The role focuses on transforming raw data into meaningful insights through dashboards, reports, KPIs, trends, and analytical recommendations. The Data Specialist will work closely with Technology, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Commercial, and other Business Departments to ensure accurate, timely, and useful data reporting.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Collects, cleans, validates, consolidates, and analyzes data from different systems and databases
• Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports for management and business stakeholders
• Identifies trends, patterns, gaps, and anomalies in business and operational data
• Translates data findings into clear insights and recommendations
• Analyzes and constructs Data Lakes and Data Warehouses including the use of AI tools
Dashboard & KPI Development
• Builds and maintains dashboards using tools such as Power BI, SSRS, Excel, or similar reporting platforms
• Develops and validates KPIs to monitor business performance, system usage, service performance, and operational efficiency
• Ensures dashboards are accurate, user-friendly, and aligned with management needs
• Automates recurring reports where possible to reduce manual effort
Data Quality & Validation
• Validates data accuracy across different systems and reports
• Investigates data inconsistencies and coordinates with relevant teams to resolve them
• Supports data governance by ensuring proper definitions, calculations, and reporting logic
• Maintains clear documentation of data sources, formulas, and report structures
• Supports the implementation of new analytics tools, methodologies, and technologies
Business & Technology Support
• Works with Business Departments to understand reporting needs and translate them into data requirements
• Supports Technology teams by providing analysis related to application usage, incidents, services, transactions, and system performance
• Assists in measuring the success of new services, products, features, and digital initiatives
• Provides analytical support for projects, audits, regulatory reports, and management presentations
Continuous Improvement
• Recommends improvements to existing reports, dashboards, and data processes
• Identifies opportunities for automation, optimization, consolidation, and better data visualization
• Stays updated on data analysis tools, reporting techniques, and dashboard best practices Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Science or a related field
Technical Skills:
• Microsoft Excel – advanced level
• Power BI or similar BI tools
• SQL querying
• Data visualization
• Data cleaning and transformation
• Strong knowledge of Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, charts, and data manipulation
• Good experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar dash-boarding tools
• Good knowledge of SQL and database querying
• Understanding of data validation, data quality, and reporting logic
• Experience in financial services, payments, telecom, retail, or technology environments is a plus
• Basic understanding of databases and data models
• Knowledge of Python is a plus
Relevant experience:
5-7 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, or a similar role
