Role Description: We are seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager to drive the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering projects. You will be responsible for owning the delivery process end-to-end (from planning through release) ensuring work is effectively broken down, coordinated, tracked, governed, and delivered on time. You will manage technical execution, dependencies, risks, and release tracking while coordinating closely across Engineering, DevOps, QA, Architecture, and Security to ensure a smooth and predictable delivery process. Your role requires strong technical fluency to break down requirements into backend and frontend workstreams, understand their dependencies, and coordinate with the appropriate engineering teams. Your contributions will be essential in enabling the successful execution and timely delivery of high-quality software projects.
Qualifications:
- Strong Project Management and Program Management skills to plan, organize, and oversee complex technical initiatives.
- Demonstrated Team Leadership and Communication abilities to guide cross-functional teams and maintain clear stakeholder alignment.
- Robust Analytical Skills to interpret data, assess technical and business trade-offs, and support decision-making.
- Experience managing software or platform-based projects, ideally within high-scale, cloud or data-driven environments.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and modern project management tools.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating across time zones and cultures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Background in consumer technology, matchmaking, social platforms, or products serving values-driven communities is a plus.
Responsibilities:
1- Technical breakdown & delivery
- Break down user stories and requirements into backend and frontend tasks, identify the dependencies between them, and route each to the right team.
- Translate approved requirements into clear, structured, technically-scoped tasks.
- Facilitate the full sprint cycle — planning, refinement, kickoff, review and retrospective — with enforced timeboxes.
- Monitor progress of user stories and ensure timely completion of deliverables; track dependencies and drive blockers to resolution, escalating when necessary.
2- Technical documentation & planning cadence
- Own and maintain the technology documentation drive — architecture documents, technical references, and delivery records — keeping it organised and current.
- Own the recurring planning cadence: coordinate the monthly and quarterly plans, consolidate them, and follow through on execution.
- Prepare quarter-end achievement reporting and reporting against the prior plan.
3- Process, board & release governance
- Own board health, work-in-progress limits, and clear Definitions of Ready and Done.
- Coordinate the release train with engineering — branching, scheduling, and release readiness.
- Maintain backlog hygiene: organise tasks, clarify requirements, and keep items up to date.
- Drive continuous improvement of the delivery process, run changes as measured experiments, and report results.
4- Reporting & communication
- Produce concise written delivery, risk, and progress reporting for leadership and product.
- Maintain accurate documentation of decisions and changes, shared with relevant stakeholders.
- Work with QA to ensure requirements are clearly understood and reflected in testing.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, project management, or a related field.
- Scrum or Agile certifications are a plus.
- Jira certifications are an advantage.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in technical project, program, or delivery management within software product teams.
- Strong, hands-on experience applying Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban) in day-to-day project delivery.
- Solid understanding of software architecture at a high level, with the ability to break down requirements into backend and frontend workstreams and identify their dependencies.
- Good understanding of Git branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, QA processes, and release management; technically fluent even without hands-on coding responsibilities.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and structured knowledge bases.
- Data-driven mindset, using delivery metrics and KPIs to monitor progress and drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to drive accountability across engineering teams.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a high sense of ownership.
