Job Purpose
The Junior Human Resources Officer provides day-to-day HR support across employee onboarding, employee relations, insurance, and HR administration. The role ensures accurate employee records, supports the implementation of HR policies and procedures, and provides timely assistance to employees and management while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Onboarding & HR Administration
- Support onboarding activities for new employees, including assisting with HR system and profile-related queries.
- Ensure required onboarding documentation and employee records are complete and properly maintained.
- Maintain employee shift schedules in line with departmental requirements.
- Assist with employee exit processes and exit interviews.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
Employee Relations
- Support the implementation and communication of employee relations policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, rules, and regulations.
- Provide initial support to employees regarding HR-related queries and escalate complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR team member.
- Support the HR team in handling investigations related to employee grievances, complaints, and workplace incidents.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and follow-up on employee relations cases.
Insurance & Employee Benefits
- Maintain employee insurance files and ensure required documentation is complete and up to date.
- Follow up with employees regarding missing insurance documents.
- Ensure all eligible employees are properly enrolled in applicable employee insurance programs.
- Support the tracking and administration of medical requests and related records.
General HR Support
- Provide administrative and operational support to the HR team as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism and integrity.
- Perform other HR-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in an HR or administrative role is preferred.
- Good knowledge of HR processes and employee administration.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HR information systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
