We are hiring: Cost Control Manager
We are seeking an experienced Cost Control Manager to support our projects operations and ensure effective control of project expenditure, commitments, forecasts, and financial performance.
Reporting to: Chief Projects Officer
The role will work closely with the Country Manager, Project Manager, Planning, Procurement, Contracts, and Finance departments. The successful candidate will maintain an independent and objective approach when reviewing project costs, commitments, forecasts, and expenditure.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the project cost coding structure across BOQ items, activities, materials, services, subcontractors, equipment, labour, and overheads.
- Review payment requests, purchase requests, purchase orders, quotations, invoices, delivery notes, GRNs, measurements, and supporting documentation.
- Control subcontractor and supplier payments, including IPC certification, retention, advance payment recovery, back-charges, and materials on site.
- Maintain a complete audit trail from purchase request through to payment.
- Establish and monitor project budgets, cost breakdowns, commitments, actual costs, contingencies, and risk allowances.
- Monitor Planned Value, Earned Value, Actual Cost, CPI, cost variance, and other cost-performance indicators.
- Prepare Cost to Complete assessments, Forecast Cost at Completion, variance analysis, project margin forecasts, and cash flow updates.
- Track the cost impact of variations, claims, time-related costs, price escalation, and currency exposure.
- Prepare accurate monthly cost reports and flash reports for management.
- Identify and escalate potential cost overruns, unsupported expenditure, abnormal costs, and other financial risks.
- Support final account preparation and project close-out cost reconciliation.
