Overview
This role ensures the timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices within the Accounts Payable cycle. It captures, matches, and posts invoices within 24 hours, manages exceptions, and reconciles supplier accounts, ensuring the AP ledger remains complete, accurate, and supported by a clear audit trail.
Key Responsibilities
- Register, validate, match and post supplier invoices accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Ensure correct coding, approvals, duplicate checks and supporting documentation.
- Maintain the exception list and follow up promptly on unresolved items.
- Perform completeness and control checks, escalating delays and risks.
- Prepare AP ageing, payment proposals and GRNI reports.
- Process and allocate approved payments and issue remittance advices.
- Investigate aged invoices, debit balances and unallocated payments.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve outstanding differences.
- Support accruals, period-end activities and AP-to-GL reconciliations.
- Complete AP controls, reporting and service performance measures.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting or Finance, or part-qualified with ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent body.
Experience
- 2 to 4 years in accounts payable, preferably in a shared service center or a multi-entity group.
Technical knowledge
- Three-way matching (PO, GRN and invoice) and tolerance rules.
- Tax invoice requirements in the markets served.
- Oracle EBS R12 Payables or a comparable ERP.
- Supplier statement reconciliation and ageing analysis.
- Advanced Excel Skills.
