The Senior QA Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products, leads the testing efforts, mentors junior testers, and collaborates closely with the development and product teams. Expertise in testing methodologies, tools, and processes will be instrumental in delivering high-quality software solutions to company’s customers.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the testing efforts for complex software projects, including defining test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
Mentor and guide Junior QA Specialist, providing technical expertise and supporting their professional growth.
Collaborate with software developers and project managers to understand software functionality and requirements.
Participate in requirement analysis and review meetings to provide input and ensure testability of software features.
Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements and specifications.
Identify and communicate testing risks and issues to project stakeholders and propose mitigation strategies.
Design and develop automated test scripts, frameworks, and use testing tools to increase testing efficiency and coverage.
Perform manual and automated testing of software applications, systems, or products to ensure they meet quality standards, and approved application requirements covering functional, performance, security, and regression testing.
Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.
Execute test cases and record test results, identifying and documenting defects or issues.
Validate fixes and verify the resolution of reported defects.
Identify software nonconformity from standards and suggest modifications to ensure compliance.
Conduct regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not affected by software changes.
Provide accurate and timely status reports on testing progress and defect metrics.
Conduct UAT sessions with the clients.
Write guides and manuals for the different software projects.
Visit beta testing sites to evaluate software performance.
Maintain and update test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the QA team, advocating for best practices and automation.
Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in software testing.
Job Specifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proficiency in manual and automated testing techniques.
Knowledge of designing and implementing scalable automated testing frameworks using modern industry-standard tools and technologies, such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, JUnit/TestNG, REST Assured, and API automation frameworks, is a plus.
Familiarity with test management tools and bug tracking systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
