JOB SUMMARYThe Sustainability Coordinator is the operational lead for campus sustainability initiatives, including day-to-day supervision of USEK’s Material Recovery Facility (MRF) staff. The incumbent ensures that sustainability policies and projects are executed effectively, supports data collection and reporting, facilitates faculty and student engagement, and translates strategic plans into tangible campus action.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Operational Leadership and MRF Supervision:
- Directly supervises MRF staff, managing daily operations, staffing schedules, and performance.
- Ensures proper execution of campus sustainability initiatives: waste management, recycling, energy and water efficiency, mobility programs.
- Monitors adherence to sustainability standards and escalates operational issues as needed.
- Data Collection and Reporting Support:
- Collects and consolidates sustainability data from MRF operations, campus activities, and student projects.
- Assists the Sustainability Manager in KPI monitoring, SDG alignment, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting.
- Maintains accurate records of all operational activities, projects, and engagement metrics.
- Faculty and Student Engagement:
- Supports Faculty Sustainability Champions in implementing sustainability projects and experiential learning initiatives.
- Facilitates student involvement in sustainability programs, living-lab projects, and volunteer activities.
- Mentors and guides student interns in operational and project-based sustainability tasks.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Acts as the primary operational liaison between the Sustainability Office, MRF staff, and administrative/academic units.
- Prepares routine updates and reports for internal coordination and management oversight.
- Ensures SDG tracking.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, sustainability, environmental management, or any related field preferred.
- 4 years of relevant work experience.
