Job Summary
The Speech Language Therapist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. The role develops individualized therapy plans to improve patients' communication and swallowing abilities while working closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate patients with speech, language, communication, voice, and swallowing difficulties
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans based on patient needs
- Provide speech, language, communication, and swallowing therapy for patients as required
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans according to clinical outcomes
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and ongoing rehabilitation needs
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with patient safety, quality, and hospital standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Speech Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field
- Valid SCFHS professional classification and registration
- 1–3 years of relevant clinical experience in speech and language therapy
