Job description:
Job Scope: The Control Room Technician is responsible to monitor and operate control systems, including Building Management Systems (BMS), Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP), SCADA, and other critical infrastructure systems. In addition, the Control Room Technician should ensure safe, efficient, and compliant functioning of technical systems through real-time monitoring, emergency response, and coordination with maintenance and operational teams.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
System Monitoring and Operation:
- Continuously monitor BMS software and FACP systems for alarms, irregularities, and operational data
- Report and escalate emergency situations or technical issues related to fire, MV (Medium Voltage), elevators, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems to the Control Room Team Leader and relevant teams
- Ensure accurate backup and achieving system data and logs across BMS, FACP, and metering systems
Energy Efficiency and Control
- Implement energy-saving measures via the BMS as directed, ensuring changes are controlled, recorded, and verified
- Coordinate closely with the Team Leader to ensure proper execution and documentation of these initiatives
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all interventions, alarms, and adjustments made through the BMS and related systems
- Generate statistical reports and summaries on BMS activities, energy usage, and performance metrics
- Keep up-to-date equipment history records in the system to support preventive and corrective maintenance plans
Emergency and Incident Management:
- Maintain high alertness to technical emergencies, particularly involving life safety or critical infrastructure
- Support emergency response efforts, ensuring that relevant departments and external responders are informed and able to act swiftly
Compliance and Quality Control:
- Identify and report non-compliance with operational standards or system irregularities to the team leader or related parties
- Propose recommendations to address inefficiencies, procedural gaps, or recurring technical issues
Process Improvement
- Participate in control room workflow reviews and suggest enhancements to system operations, monitoring processes, or data handling practices
- Contribute to ongoing efforts to improve system uptime, alarm accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Stakeholders Relationship
- Maintain strong relationships with internal departments and ensure constant cooperation for successful initiatives
- Work closely and positively with other technicians, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve issues
Others
- Stay up to date with the latest development and best practices in the technical field and implement the newest techniques
- Ensure compliance with the authority matrix, code of conduct and HR policies
- Perform other technical duties relating to plumbing, HVAC, safety and general services in case of emergency
