We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Clinical Pathologist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing laboratory investigations, interpreting diagnostic results, ensuring quality and accuracy, and working closely with clinicians to support accurate diagnosis and patient management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret a wide range of laboratory investigations and diagnostic tests.
- Review and validate laboratory results before reporting.
- Provide clinical consultation and guidance to physicians regarding laboratory findings.
- Supervise laboratory operations and ensure compliance with established clinical standards.
- Monitor quality control and quality assurance processes across the laboratory.
- Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new diagnostic techniques and laboratory technologies.
- Ensure proper handling, processing, storage, and documentation of patient specimens.
- Investigate abnormal or critical laboratory results and communicate urgent findings appropriately.
- Maintain accurate medical and laboratory records.
- Support infection control, patient safety, and laboratory risk-management initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and professional guidelines.
- Train, mentor, and supervise laboratory staff where required.
- Participate in clinical meetings, audits, research, and continuous professional development activities.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Specialist qualification in Clinical Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, or a related specialty.
- Valid professional license or eligibility to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Relevant clinical experience in a hospital, diagnostic laboratory, or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory medicine, diagnostic procedures, and quality management systems.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary medical teams.
- Commitment to patient safety, accuracy, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
