Location: Remote (European Time Zone), once per month in the office in Cracow
Contract Type: B2B
About us:
ETFbook is a Swiss SaaS company providing data, analytics, and custom solutions in the Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) space. Founded in 2020, we aim to make global ETF data accessible, actionable, and valuable for institutional participants, including ETF issuers, index providers, fund service providers, market makers, exchanges, and buy-side institutions.
We develop a platform which offers comprehensive insights through a user-friendly web application and robust APIs, covering areas such as product analysis, fund flow tracking, performance comparisons, and liquidity assessments.
About the role:
You'll join the Cloud Platform team, part of the technology department. This team builds and runs the Azure estate that all of our products and data services depend on, managed end to end as Terraform through Azure DevOps. Your primary goal will be owning how that estate is built, secured, observed and paid for.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will drive the evolution of the cloud platform - networking, identity, security, governance and resilience - lead infrastructure projects from design to delivery, and set the standards other engineers build within, collaborating closely with architects, software engineers and data engineers.
You'll be part of a collaborative team focused on infrastructure as code, security and operational excellence, in a senior individual contributor role with real design authority. This role offers the chance to make a visible impact in a dynamic, fast-evolving field.
Responsibilities:
- Owns the Terraform architecture - module design, product boundaries, state and provider strategy - and drives the estate to fully Terraform-managed.
- Owns how change lands safely: environment order, plan review, branch policies, approvals, pipeline identities.
- Owns the security posture: private by default, identity-first, controlled egress.
- Drives the hardening programme: Defender, Entra-only authentication, shared-key removal, WAF, secret and pipeline credential lifecycle.
- Owns governance as code: management groups, Azure Policy (audit, then enforce), tagging.
- Owns observability: signal coverage, Log Analytics design, Grafana, alerting, SLOs.
- Owns disaster recovery: scope, backups, failover runbooks, rehearsals.
- Owns the duty rota and the incident process, and takes part in it.
- Owns FinOps: attribution, budgets, rightsizing, monthly cost narrative.
- Drives small infrastructure projects end to end, and mentors engineers through design and code review.
Requirements:
- 6+ years in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering, several of them owning technical direction, running projects end to end and leading incidents.
- Deep Azure networking, identity and security.
- Terraform at architect level: modules others build on, multi-subscription, state strategy.
- Kubernetes in production; policy as code and cloud governance.
- Security engineering as a practice, sequenced without outages.
- Observability and disaster recovery you have designed and tested.
- Strong communication with engineers and leadership alike.
- English - B2 or higher.
Nice to have:
- AZ-305, AZ-500 or CKA; regulated or financial services context.
- Databricks infrastructure; FinOps at scale.
- Establishing AI-assisted engineering practice in a team.
