Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Government Relations Officer to lead and coordinate the Government Relations function and ensure the timely and compliant completion of company and employee-related government transactions.
The role will serve as a key liaison between the company and Kuwait government authorities, ministries, regulatory entities, service providers, and external stakeholders. The position will also be responsible for departmental coordination, KPI monitoring, reporting, management presentations, compliance tracking, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Government Relations function.
- Handle and process government-related transactions, applications, documentation, and official submissions.
- Liaise with ministries, government authorities, regulatory entities, and other official bodies on company requirements.
- Manage and follow up on permits, licenses, approvals, gate passes, residency-related documentation, work permits, Civil ID matters, and other government transactions.
- Ensure timely renewal and follow-up of company licenses, permits, registrations, and official documents.
- Prepare and submit government forms, applications, letters, and supporting documents.
- Monitor all pending government transactions and ensure timely closure within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records, tracking systems, databases, and filing of official documentation.
- Coordinate with HR, People Management, Finance, QHSE, Operations, and other departments on employee and company government requirements.
- Support employee onboarding and government documentation processes when required.
- Act as the escalation point for delayed, complex, or critical government transactions.
- Monitor departmental performance and establish effective follow-up and tracking mechanisms.
- Develop, monitor, and report on Government Relations KPIs, including turnaround time, pending cases, renewals, compliance, and service levels.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports, dashboards, KPI reports, and management presentations.
- Present Government Relations performance, challenges, pending cases, risks, and action plans to management.
- Identify opportunities to improve Government Relations processes, turnaround times, documentation, and service delivery.
- Liaise with service providers and external stakeholders regarding government and administrative matters.
- Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity of employee and company records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable Kuwait governmental regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on government procedures and documentation.
- Perform other relevant duties and projects assigned by management.
Skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of relevant experience in Government Relations, administration, HR government services, or a similar function.
- Strong practical knowledge of Kuwait government procedures and documentation processes.
- Hands-on experience with residency, work permits, visas, Civil ID, licenses, permits, gate passes, and related government transactions.
- Experience dealing with Kuwait ministries, government authorities, and regulatory entities.
- Experience preparing KPIs, reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently, lead activities, and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
