What you will do:The role will work closely with Government Affairs leadership to shape strategic priorities, support executive decision-making, and drive engagement across key internal and external stakeholders.
Acting as a trusted advisor, the successful candidate will provide strategic insight, develop executive-level content, oversee complex stakeholder engagements, and contribute to the continued development and maturity of the Government Affairs function.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Partnering closely with leadership to support strategic priorities, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Preparing executive-level presentations, briefing materials, reports, and strategic communications for senior stakeholders.
- Conducting research and analysis on geopolitical, economic, government, and investment-related developments to support leadership decision-making.
- Developing country reports, leadership briefs, and strategic insights by synthesizing complex information into clear and actionable recommendations.
- Supporting engagement with local and international stakeholders, including government entities, strategic partners, and investment platforms.
- Driving collaboration and alignment across Investment Platforms, Corporate Functions, and international offices.
- Leading strategic projects and special initiatives on behalf of the Government Affairs function.
- Enhancing reporting frameworks, governance processes, and management information to support effective decision-making.
- Advising on best practices and continuous improvement opportunities to further strengthen and mature the function.
- Supporting the development and mentoring of junior team members while fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across the team.
What will you bring:To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 13-15+ years of professional experience in strategy, economics, international affairs, public policy, finance, investment management, or a related field.
- Strong business, commercial, and investment acumen with the ability to analyse complex issues and provide strategic recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives and leadership-level stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive reports, briefing materials, and presentations.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience engaging with a broad range of international and multicultural stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- High levels of professionalism, discretion, maturity, and sound judgement.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- A collaborative mindset with experience developing and supporting junior team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Strategy, Economics, International Relations, Political Science, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Experience within sovereign wealth funds, investment organizations, strategy consulting, government advisory, or multinational organisations.
- Strong understanding of Abu Dhabi Government priorities and the regional geopolitical landscape.
- Arabic language capability would be a strong advantage.
