We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly responsible Senior Accountant to oversee key accounting functions and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely completion of financial records and reports. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, month-end closing, reconciliations, compliance, audit coordination, and supporting management with accurate financial information for business decision-making.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial transactions.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate and complete accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Prepare financial schedules, supporting documentation, and analysis for management reporting.
• Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and working capital activities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis.
• Review financial transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment, approvals, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax requirements, statutory regulations, and internal financial policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other external parties when required.
• Support internal and external audit processes by preparing requested schedules, reports, and supporting documents.
• Assist with tax filings, statutory reporting, and other regulatory requirements where applicable.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Implement and maintain effective financial controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risks.
• Support the implementation and optimization of accounting systems, ERP platforms, and financial reporting tools.
• Provide financial analysis and accounting insights to support management decision-making.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff and review their work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Handle confidential financial information with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
• Support senior management and finance leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and accounting projects.
✅ Requirements
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, Accountant, or similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
• Good understanding of applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and statutory regulations.
• Experience in preparing financial statements, management reports, and accounting schedules.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software or ERP systems.
• Experience with systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms is an advantage.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, financial processes, and accounting best practices.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Finance team and other departments.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior accounting staff is highly preferred.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, accountability, and confidentiality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent are an advantage.
