About the role
We're hiring on behalf of an established market-making firm for a Quant Developer to join its Market Making team, building the trading algorithms that sit at the core of the business. You'll own the full lifecycle of algorithm development — from research tooling and back-testing through to optimised, production-grade C++ running in live markets. You will work closely with traders and engineers in a collaborative team, contributing ideas directly and deepening your understanding of market microstructure along the way.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy trading algorithms and the research workflow and tools that support them.
- Build and run back-testing frameworks to take strategies from idea to live trading.
- Create scalable, standardised solutions in partnership with the trading team.
- Write high-performance, low-latency C++ and drive extensive testing and optimisation to production standard.
- Uphold engineering best practice across the full SDLC — code review, testing, CI/CD and documentation.
- Improve compute capability through continual infrastructure development.
Requirements
Essential:
- 3+ years in a development role within capital markets.
- Strong modern C++ (C++17/20), with a focus on performance and production-quality code.
- Hands-on experience working with order books and market depth data.
- Solid version control and CI/CD experience (Git, Azure DevOps or similar).
- A rigorous approach to unit and integration testing (e.g. GoogleTest, Catch2).
- A BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.
- Fluent English, and a curious, autonomous, problem-solving approach with strong team spirit.
Desirable:
- Exposure to high-frequency or market-making trading strategies.
- Python for research, data analysis or tooling.
- A background in machine learning, data science or data engineering.
- Familiarity with low-latency techniques — memory management, concurrency, profiling and Linux performance tuning.
Why apply
- Direct impact on P&L — you'll work alongside traders, with your code running in live markets.
- End-to-end ownership, from research and back-testing to deployment.
- A collaborative, flat team where good ideas move quickly into production.
