Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer to own the end-to-end quality assurance and testing strategy across QiMAP (SuperQi) and Iraq Post digital platforms. The role is responsible for designing and executing manual and automated testing across web, mobile, APIs, WebSocket flows, GIS functionality, and data pipelines, while ensuring system reliability, performance, accessibility, and bilingual user experience.
The role will develop and maintain automated test suites, integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, validate analytics and data accuracy, conduct end-to-end and resilience testing, and ensure compliance with accessibility and brand standards. The QA Engineer will also act as a key release gate, providing severity-ranked QA reports, coordinating defect resolution with engineering teams, and supporting DEV, UAT, and PROD releases.
Statement of Duties:
- Own the end-to-end test strategy across the QiMAP mini-app, API, admin portal and event pipeline, and the Iraq Post platforms — covering UI, REST APIs, WebSocket flows and data pipelines.
- Build and maintain automated test suites (Playwright for the mini-app and portal; pytest/HTTP-level tests for (APIs) and integrate them into the CI/CD pipeline on every PR into the protected DEV branch.
- Verify analytics correctness: cross-check every dashboard KPI and heatmap figure against SQL on the database, and test event-pipeline behavior (ingest → transform → aggregate) for completeness, idempotency and timing.
- Test the mini-app inside the SuperQi wallet WebView on real Android and iOS devices — sign-in token flow, search, merchant cards, directions — under 4G conditions and on mid-range hardware.
- Execute cross-service end-to-end passes on the Iraq Post suite (order → warehouse intake → sort → dispatch → courier → public tracking) and verify event chains, timestamps, and status semantics in both languages.
- Test GIS-specific behavior: routing quality and alternatives (OSRM), geocoding and search ranking accuracy, vector-tile and map rendering (MapLibre GL / Leaflet), and live location flows.
- Run bilingual and responsive passes — desktop and mobile (390 px), English LTR and Arabic RTL — checking layout mirroring, translated strings, and numeral policy.
- Perform negative and resilience testing: API error contracts (4xx correctness), auth and role-scope enforcement, WebSocket reconnect and idle-hold behavior.
- Verify accessibility (WCAG AA) and brand-system compliance, including known contrast traps and keyboard/focus behavior.
- Write clear, severity-ranked QA reports with reproducible steps and screenshot evidence; track findings to closure with the engineering team.
- Act as the release gate: sign off DEV → UAT → PROD promotions, run the post-deployment production watch with the engineers, and lead pre-demo readiness checks.
Skills & Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years in software QA, including at least 1 year building test automation for web applications.
- Hands-on experience with a modern UI automation framework (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium) and API testing
- (curl/Postman/pytest).
- Solid understanding of HTTP, REST, WebSockets, and browser dev tools; comfortable reading JavaScript and
- Python to root-cause defects at source level.
- Working SQL — able to write queries against PostgreSQL to verify figures shown in the UI.
- Experience testing responsive, bilingual, or RTL user interfaces.
- Working knowledge of Git and PR-based workflows (feature branches, protected branches, CI checks).
- Fluency in Arabic and strong working English (test artifacts are written in English; the product is bilingual).
