Role DescriptionWe are seeking a highly organized, commercially aware, and results-driven Project Manager / Construction Project Manager / Project Director to lead and coordinate projects from initial planning through completion. This role is responsible for establishing project objectives, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing resources, monitoring progress, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with approved requirements.
The role involves developing project plans, defining milestones, establishing schedules, coordinating resources, and maintaining clear communication across all project stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, management, and internal teams to ensure that project objectives are clearly understood and effectively executed.
For construction-related projects, the position will coordinate activities across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover stages. This includes monitoring site progress, coordinating contractors and subcontractors, reviewing project documentation, and ensuring that construction activities remain aligned with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and quality requirements.
Project financial management is an important part of the role. Responsibilities include supporting project budgets, monitoring costs, reviewing variations, tracking commitments, evaluating financial impacts, and ensuring that project expenditure remains appropriately controlled. The role will also contribute to forecasting and reporting on project financial performance.
The Project Manager will monitor schedules, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and potential delays. Any emerging issues should be identified early, assessed appropriately, and addressed through practical corrective actions. Regular project updates, progress reports, meeting minutes, and management information should be maintained accurately.
Risk, quality, health and safety, and compliance are also key areas of responsibility. The successful candidate will help identify project risks, coordinate mitigation measures, monitor quality standards, and ensure that relevant policies, procedures, contractual requirements, and regulatory obligations are followed.
The Project Director will provide overall leadership and strategic direction for major projects, ensuring that commercial, operational, technical, and stakeholder requirements remain aligned. The role may also involve reviewing project strategies, resolving complex issues, supporting contract negotiations, and providing senior-level recommendations.
Strong stakeholder management is essential. The successful candidate should be able to lead meetings, communicate project expectations clearly, resolve conflicts professionally, and maintain productive relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
The role requires a proactive and structured approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on safety, quality, schedule, budget, and successful project delivery.
Qualifications
- * Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and project delivery processes.
- Knowledge of construction planning, procurement, scheduling, and site coordination.
- Ability to develop and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables.
- Strong understanding of project cost control, forecasting, variations, and financial reporting.
- Ability to coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, engineers, architects, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Strong knowledge of risk management, quality control, health and safety, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to monitor project progress and identify potential delays, risks, and resource constraints.
- Strong contract administration and commercial awareness.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to chair project meetings and communicate decisions, actions, and deadlines clearly.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to prepare project reports, progress updates, budgets, schedules, presentations, and management documentation.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, or similar platforms is an advantage.
