Job Purpose:
- Act as the Operational General Manager's single point of control for planning, performance and transformation. The role owns the integrated business plan and operational planning cycle, the KPI scorecard and business unit performance reviews, cost and variance control (with Finance), the risk register, and the portfolio of strategic initiatives that grow Botanica's revenue streams and capabilities.
Job Responsibilities:
Business Planning
- Coordinate the annual business plan and budget calendar with Finance and all departments; consolidate one integrated plan with figures, not assertions.
- Maintain the financial and operational planning assumptions register and its version history.
Strategy Execution & Initiative Portfolio
- Run the portfolio of strategic initiatives (new revenue streams, capacity expansion, new client segments, digital and process improvement) with clear governance, schedules and stage gates.
- Prepare and challenge business cases with Finance; track benefits after implementation.
- Maintain decision and action logs for the leadership team and escalate slippage early.
Business Unit Performance
- Run monthly business unit reviews covering revenue, margin, cost, productivity and service KPIs for each revenue stream.
- Highlight under-performing streams or contracts and drive agreed recovery actions.
Operational Planning & S&OP
- Run the monthly sales and operations planning (S&OP) cycle: demand (Commercial), supply and capacity (Production), cost and cash (Finance).
- Lead capacity, manpower and logistics/dispatch planning so that resources match commitments.
Performance Management
- Design the KPI framework and cascade it from Botanica level to departments and sections.
- Produce monthly performance packs and dashboards; facilitate monthly performance reviews chaired by the Operational General Manager.
- Own the productivity measurement methodology so that figures are consistent and auditable.
Cost Control & Variance
- With Finance, track actual vs. plan by cost center and by contract; analyses variances to root cause and track corrective actions.
- Maintain cost-to-complete and contract profitability forecasts for major contracts and initiatives.
Risk, Governance & Reporting
- Maintain the Botanica risk register and RAID log (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) with named owners and mitigations.
- Prepare board papers and GCEO presentation packs; ensure every figure ties back to a confirmed data source.
- Manage the initiative and capex portfolio: business cases, stage gates and post-implementation reviews.
Leadership
- Lead the Planning & Performance and Control sections (9 FTE per OD Finalized); build planning, data and project-control capability.
- Deliver the fixed responsibilities of a Department Head (Section 11.1).
Policies, Systems, Processes & Standards
- Follow and enforce all relevant Botanica and RSG Group policies, delegation of authority (DoA), processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled, auditable and consistent manner.
Safety, Quality & Environment
- Apply and champion the safety, quality and environmental management system (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and the compliance management system (ISO 37301) to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, high-quality products and services, and a responsible environmental attitude.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and lead opportunities to improve the department's systems, processes and practices against international best practice, with a focus on cost reduction, productivity improvement and client value.
Job Requirements:
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or Finance; PMP, PgMP or MSP certification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years in planning, project controls or PMO roles, of which at least 5 years leading a PMO.
- Proven experience in business planning, performance management and transformation programmes in multi-business-unit organizations.
Skills:
- Programme governance, scheduling (Primavera P6 / MS Project) and stage-gate management.
- Financial modelling, variance analysis and KPI design.
- Data visualization and reporting (Excel, Power BI or equivalent).
- Executive reporting and facilitation; fluent English, Arabic preferred.
Job Context:
- The role sits at the centre of a business with several revenue streams and business units that share people, land, water and equipment.
- The main challenge is keeping one version of the truth: plans, financial models and presentations must reconcile to confirmed data (manpower cost, store inventory, contracts register, landscape summary and approved board submissions).
- Where sources conflict, the role must surface the conflict rather than smooth it over.
