Origination — Trade Finance (Muscat; Executive to Lead level)
We are building Mamun's origination team and hiring across seniority. The title and scope will reflect your experience: Origination Executive, Senior Originator, or Origination Lead.
Role Description
Origination at Mamun is a field-led role based in Muscat. You spend most of your week with the owners and finance teams of Oman's importers, exporters, distributors, manufacturers, contractors and logistics operators — understanding how they trade and helping them succeed with Mamun's financing.
The role extends beyond Oman. Mamun operates across Muscat, Abu Dhabi (ADGM) and Hong Kong SAR, and the originator works with our strategic partner and alliance network across the UAE and Asia — banks, trade houses, logistics groups and channel partners that feed and co-execute deals along the Gulf–Asia corridor. As you grow into the role, so does your corridor exposure.
You are not selling alone. Mamun has built an origination system around the originator:
-
Targeting — a proprietary trade-data layer that surfaces which businesses are importing, exporting and growing, so you walk in knowing who they buy from and what they ship. Your own network sits on top of it.
-
Intake — clients submit through the Mamun Business App; AI-assisted document intake reads the CR, bank statements, invoices and shipping documents and flags gaps before you leave the meeting.
-
Decisioning — a dedicated trade finance credit team and a structured credit workflow review every file. You originate; they decide.
-
After execution — onboarding handles verification and follow-ups; collections owns settlement. Every stage has an owner and a timeline visible in the CRM.
You report to the Chief Commercial Officer and work closely with the trade finance credit team and Mamun's partners. The role is hybrid: client-facing time is in the field, with office and remote work for pipeline, preparation and reporting.
Who this is for?
This is a role for people who sell in the real economy — who have walked into warehouses, sat with purchasing managers, and chased an invoice themselves. It is not a bank relationship-manager role, and we are not looking for that profile. If your experience is desk-based, portfolio-maintenance or large-corporate coverage, this will not be the right fit.
Qualifications
-
3 to 10+ years in B2B field sales, territory sales, account management or commercial roles — ideally with a major distributor, FMCG or building-materials supplier, freight and logistics company, exporter, manufacturer or trading house serving Oman's SMEs and mid-sized businesses; seniority will be matched to depth of experience and the book you bring
-
A track record you can describe in customers won and kept, not proposals sent
-
You know how goods move: comfortable with invoices, purchase orders, shipping documents and the people who handle them, and able to talk to accountants as easily as owners
-
Fluent English; Arabic and other languages spoken in Oman's trading community are an advantage
-
Own car and valid Omani driving licence; Muscat-based and willing to travel within Oman, particularly to the industrial and port areas, and regionally as the partner network requires
-
Disciplined with a CRM and same-day reporting
-
For Lead-level candidates: experience managing a small sales team or territory, and a view on how to build one
-
Omani nationals strongly encouraged
