Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Apps DBA to administer, maintain, and support our Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments and underlying Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
Oracle EBS Administration
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.x) environments.
- Apply EBS patches using AD utilities and ADOP (online patching), and manage patch cycles.
- Perform EBS cloning and environment refreshes (Rapid Clone) for DEV/TEST/UAT.
- Manage concurrent managers, workflow, application tier services, and WebLogic components.
Database Administration
- Administer Oracle databases supporting EBS, including users, schemas, tablespaces, and configurations.
- Monitor and tune database and application performance (AWR, ASH, SQL tuning).
- Perform health checks, capacity planning, and apply CPU/PSU security patches.
Backup, Recovery & High Availability
- Design, implement, and maintain RMAN backup and recovery strategies.
- Configure, manage, and monitor Oracle Data Guard (physical standby), including switchover and failover operations.
- Support disaster recovery planning and conduct regular DR and recovery testing.
Operations & Support
- Provide production support and resolve database, application tier, and connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with functional, infrastructure, security, and Oracle Support (SR management) teams.
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational records in line with IT policies and security standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of experience as an Oracle DBA, including at least 3 years as an Oracle Apps / EBS DBA.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Data Guard.
- Strong hands-on experience with RMAN backup and recovery.
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.
- Solid experience with Linux/Unix and shell scripting.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) – required.
Preferred
- Experience with EBS R12.2 upgrades and online patching.
- Experience with Oracle RAC / ASM.
- Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or EBS cloud migration.
