The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop and ensuring the successful execution of digital printing projects from initial planning through production, quality control, installation/delivery, and final completion.
The role requires a hands-on operations professional who can effectively coordinate workshop activities, resources, suppliers, production schedules, and project requirements while maintaining direct communication with clients when technical or implementation discussions are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop in Ahmadi.
- Plan and coordinate digital printing projects from order confirmation through production, finishing, delivery, installation, and project completion.
- Review project requirements, specifications, artwork, materials, quantities, deadlines, and implementation requirements before production.
- Develop production schedules and allocate manpower, equipment, materials, and other resources according to project priorities.
- Coordinate closely with sales and design teams to ensure client requirements are accurately translated into production and execution plans.
- Monitor production progress and ensure projects are completed according to agreed timelines, specifications, quality standards, and budgets.
- Conduct regular workshop visits and maintain hands-on oversight of production activities.
- Attend client meetings and site visits when required to discuss project specifications, measurements, technical requirements, installation, and implementation.
- Identify operational or production issues and take timely corrective action to minimize delays and rework.
- Ensure appropriate quality checks are carried out throughout production and before delivery or installation.
- Coordinate procurement and availability of printing materials, consumables, and other project requirements.
- Manage relationships and coordination with suppliers, subcontractors, installers, and other external service providers when required.
- Monitor material usage, wastage, productivity, and operational costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Ensure printing equipment and workshop resources are properly maintained and available for production requirements.
- Supervise, guide, and coordinate workshop and production employees to maintain productivity and accountability.
- Ensure appropriate health, safety, housekeeping, and operational standards are maintained within the workshop.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding project status, production schedules, operational challenges, and resource requirements.
- Support continuous improvement of production processes, workflows, quality, and overall operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Operations Management, Production, Engineering, Printing Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Proven experience in operations, production, workshop, or project management within digital printing or a closely related industry.
- Practical understanding of digital printing production processes, materials, finishing, installation, and project execution.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects with different specifications and deadlines.
- Strong planning, scheduling, and resource-management capabilities.
- Ability to understand client requirements and translate them into practical production and implementation plans.
- Experience supervising workshop, production, or technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage operational issues under time-sensitive conditions.
- Good communication and client-facing skills.
